Tijuca National Park is the most visited in Brazil for the 18th year in a row

The Tijuca National Park, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, was the most visited in Brazil for the 18th consecutive year in 2025, when it broke a record with an audience of 4.9 million people. Considered one of the largest urban parks in the world, the space is managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).

In Alto Corcovado alone, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is installed, the flow jumped from 2.3 million visitors in 2024 to more than 2.8 million last year. In 2026, three new imported elevators will be opened at the site, as well as a new viewpoint with panoramic views of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to the Christ, among the most famous points in the Tijuca National Park are the Dona Marta Viewpoint, the Vista Chinesa and the Tijuca Forest. The forest is fundamental to the urban ecosystem of Rio de Janeiro, being one of the largest replanted urban forests in the world. The area regulates the temperature, reducing it by up to 6ºC, protects slopes against landslides, maintains air quality and preserves the biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest.
