Tiago Martins Pitthan, the man who organized his own "living wake" after the progression of terminal cancer, died at the age of 49 on the night of this Sunday (5), in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul. The lawyer and tourismologist became known on the networks as "Good Guy".

Pitthan was diagnosed with stomach cancer, but was unable to wait for death. He threw a party and brought together friends, family and even strangers to celebrate what was most valuable: life.

Hours before his death was announced, the lawyer appeared on social media and published a photo lying on the hospital bed. In the caption, he wrote: "No filter. No production. They asked me to call my family. But life... Life is worth it!!"

I'm fine, at peace, happy. It was worth it. It was all worth it. I had a good life and that's it. I won. A kiss from the Good Guy.

Understand Pitthan's case
Lawyer and tourismologist Tiago Pitthan was not satisfied with waiting for death, even though medicine did not give him much to dream about, and decided to promote in life the farewell that almost everyone would like to have.

The cause of the event, which occurred at the end of May, was the advancement of the disease. In a post on social media, Pitthan reported that the situation had worsened and that he had "gone through difficult days".

The central objective of the initiative was to promote a festive farewell while the host could still interact with his guests, subverting the logic of conventional mourning.

On his social media profile, he highlighted the phrase that summarized the chapters of his career: "I have cancer, but cancer DOESN'T have me!!"
