Three men die in confrontation with the PM after pharmacy robbery in Sorocaba

Three men died in a confrontation with the Military Police after robbing a pharmacy in Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo, in the early hours of this Friday (5).

According to information from the SSP (Public Security Secretariat), a PM team was called to respond to a robbery incident at a pharmacy, in Vila Lucy, in Sorocaba (SP). During the search, teams located a vehicle that would have been used in the criminal action.

The police ordered the driver of the vehicle to stop, who disobeyed and fled, which began a police follow-up along Rodovia Raposo Tavares.

According to the police, the car ended up colliding with a metal guardrail. The car's occupants then shot at the police, who returned fire.

The three suspects were hit and died. A fourth individual, aged 15, was apprehended.

Products that had allegedly been stolen from the establishment were found inside the vehicle.

The police reported that forensic examination was called in and the incident was recorded as robbery and death resulting from police intervention. All circumstances of the facts are investigated by the civil and military police.

According to the PM, the confrontation occurred at Km 75 of Rodovia Raposo Tavares, in the municipality of Alumínio (SP).
