Coach Thomas Tuchel and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had a heated argument during England's victory over Croatia in both teams' World Cup debut on Wednesday (17).

The English newspaper The Sun revealed that the disagreement happened when the English team was already winning 1-0 in Dallas, Texas. Fox reporter Geoff Shreeves reportedly saw the movement in the 17th minute of the first half.

According to him, the argument between the two occurred due to the fact that Pickford had not followed Tuchel's instructions about starting to build the play by coming out with the ball from the defense.

Apparently, Pickford lost his balance when he played in the wrong direction, contrary to Tuchel's orders. Geoff Shreeves reported: "Thomas Tuchel went straight to the touchline and said: 'No, pass to the right back, you're not going that way.'"

"Pickford gave a little response and Tuchel wasn't impressed. He said to him: 'You know what you have to do, do as I say'," concluded Shreeves.

Kane also revealed a scolding he received from the coach at halftime of the match, which ended 4-2 for the English. The England captain highlighted that the players' conversation with Thomas Tuchel at half-time would have been a determining factor in the team's change of stance.
