The court sentenced businessman Rodrigo Branco for a racist comment against ex-BBB and presenter Thelma Assis.
Thelma alleged that, on March 30, 2020, Rodrigo participated in a live on Instagram and made racist comments when analyzing her participation in "BBB 20".
In the live in question, the businessman stated that the BBB participant's fans only existed "because she is a poor black woman". Thelminha won the reality edition.

In her decision, judge Flávia Snaider Ribeiro, from the 6th Civil Court of São Paulo, highlighted that Rodrigo's comments cannot be admitted.
"In this context, it appears that, by uttering the words previously described, the defendant, in an attempt to diminish the author's evident personal attributes (charisma, talent, competence, among others) which even led her to winning the aforementioned dispute on a television program with nationally recognized success, sought to link his favoritism or his relevant fans to the fact that the plaintiff was a black person and that, in the defendant's view, would be worthy of 'pity' by society, revealing, in a crystal clear way, discriminatory behavior that cannot be tolerated", says an excerpt from the decision.
Rodrigo was ordered to pay compensation of R$ 40 thousand for moral damages to Thelma. The decision can be appealed.
The businessman, who lives in the USA, was cited by notice and did not comment in the case file.
G1 was unable to contact the businessman's defense. This space will be updated if there is a position.
In a post on social media, Thelma celebrated the judiciary's decision.
"I needed justice to recognize the fact, and it was done. I spent six years fighting practically alone, only with the support of my family and my lawyers, against a cowardly racial insult, since I was confined at the time of the incident and was unable to defend myself", says an excerpt from the note.
