The mysterious website "aliens.gov", launched by the White House this Thursday (29), ended up frustrating UFO and extraterrestrial enthusiasts by revealing its true objective: to reinforce the Donald Trump government's campaign against illegal immigration in the United States.
The page, registered by the American government in March this year, began circulating on social networks after speculation that it could bring secret files on extraterrestrial life or documents linked to ufology.
When accessing the portal, visitors find an opening inspired by the "Star Wars" franchise, with stars crossing the screen and phrases such as "they walk among us", initially suggesting a possible revelation about aliens.

But the expectation is short-lived. The website, in fact, gathers data on illegal immigration and border enforcement in the United States.
Among the content available are statistics on detentions carried out by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), information on arrests of undocumented immigrants and a real-time counter of "encounters" involving people in an irregular situation in the country.
The portal's text makes a pun between "aliens", a term used in English for both extraterrestrials and foreigners, and illegal immigrants. In one of the excerpts, the website states that "aliens have lived among us for decades", attending American schools, neighborhoods and stores "without belonging here".
