The Rock takes a chance on samba when trying to sing with Péricles in Rio

An event with Péricles and Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, ended in samba in Rio de Janeiro. The 54-year-old actor came to Brazil for the launch of the live-action "Moana" and participated in an event in the capital of Rio.

There, he took a risk by trying to sing the samba "Jura", performed by Péricles. In a video released on the samba singer's social network, The Rock appears clapping and trying to keep up with the rhythm.

"What an honor! I'm a big fan, so having the chance to introduce you to our samba is something I'll never forget. Congratulations on your kindness, charisma and undeniable talent. Come back anytime! Brazil is always waiting for you with open arms", wrote the samba artist on social media.

On his Instagram profile, the actor said he loved Brazilian energy and heat. "I have the best fans in the world and I will never make light of that. I'm a lucky guy."

The Rock had already been the voice actor for Maui, Moana's traveling companion in the animation. The film opens in Brazil on Wednesday (8).

At the event, he commented on the dispute for the Golden Globe for best actor with Wagner Moura, in this year's edition. Moura was the winner when competing for "The Secret Agent" along with Johnson, who was competing for his role in "Coração de Lutador".

"I was so happy he won the Golden Globe. I said, 'You stole my Golden Globe'. I was happy he was nominated."
