Actor Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock, got into the Brazilian spirit during his stay in Rio de Janeiro and ventured into samba alongside Péricles.
The meeting took place last Friday (3), during an interview to promote the live-action Moana, when the two sang an excerpt from "Jura", a classic composed by José Barbosa da Silva, known as Sinhô, and immortalized in the voices of Noel Rosa and Zeca Pagodinho.

After the repercussion of the moment, Péricles celebrated the meeting and praised the actor.
"What an incredible honor! I'm a big fan, so having the chance to perform our samba for you is something I'll never forget. Congratulations on your kindness, charisma and undeniable talent. Come back whenever you want! Brazil will always have open arms for you", he published.
In a relaxed tone, the singer also played with the song's chorus: "Now let's sing: 'Juraaa... Juraaa... from the heart'".

In another publication, made on Thursday (3), the samba singer thanked Disney for the invitation and highlighted the experience alongside the star.
"What a huge honor! Moana's live-action is absolutely spectacular, and The Rock is incredible. I hope you enjoyed our samba! Thank you to Disney Brasil for the invitation!", he wrote.
In an interview with Billboard Brasil, Péricles said that he explained the lyrics of the song so that the actor could understand the meaning before singing.
"He liked the samba, he even wanted to sing. I translated the song so he could understand the lyrics and feel more comfortable. It was wonderful," he said.
'Moana' world tour
The Rock's visit to Brazil is part of the world tour to promote the live-action Moana. Before arriving in Rio, the actor visited countries such as Hawaii, China, Australia and England promoting the film, of which he is also executive producer.
Known for films such as The Fast and the Furious and Jumanji, in addition to his career in wrestling, he returned to play the demigod Maui, a character he voiced in the 2016 animation.
The film, starring Catherine Laga'aia in the role of Moana, opens in Brazilian cinemas next Thursday (9).

The day before, he also trained at a gym in Humaitá, where he posed for photos with fans and local employees.
