The Rock jokes about Wagner Moura: "You stole my Golden Globe"
Actor The Rock is in Brazil to promote the live-action "Moana" and took the opportunity to talk to his new Brazilian friend: Wagner Moura.
In an interview with Capricho, the Hollywood veteran revealed that he really enjoyed meeting Wagner Moura last year. "You know, I was very happy to meet Wagner Moura, it was when we were on the awards campaign together. He had 'The Secret Agent' and I had 'Fighter's Heart', and you can get to know the contestants from that year well. And I really loved meeting him and learning more about him."
In the season, The Rock and Wagner Moura competed for the Best Actor in a Drama Film award at the Golden Globes, when the Brazilian won the statuette. "I was so happy he won the Golden Globe. I said, 'You stole my Golden Globe'. I was happy he was nominated."
The Rock praised his Brazilian partner and also revealed his desire to meet on stage one day. "You know, there are people that you meet and are very nice when they meet you, but there are those that you know are good human beings. And he is like that. I want to work with him one day", he concluded.
The Rock, who was already responsible for voicing Maui in the animation sequence, was chosen to give life to the Hawaiian god in live-action, will be available in Brazilian cinemas from next Wednesday (8). To promote the film, he and his fellow participants Catherine Laga'aia, Frankie Adams and John Tui are traveling to Hawaii, Shanghai, Sydney, London, Miami, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo.
