The "god" George Harrison met in a Las Vegas hallway
The "god" encountered by George Harrison in a Las Vegas hallway was Elvis Presley.
A great admirer of the King of Rock since he was a teenager, Harrison was deeply impacted when he finally crossed paths with his idol during a visit to Las Vegas in the 1970s.
The former Beatle described the meeting as almost surreal. For him, Elvis was such an influential figure that he seemed to transcend the condition of a simple artist.
Despite the admiration, the meeting was brief and did not result in a close friendship.
Even so, Harrison never forgot that moment and often cited Elvis among the most important musicians in his artistic formation.
