The death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela rises to 188; 250 buildings were destroyed or damaged. Tremors of magnitude 7.5 and 7.2 were recorded in the country within an interval of less than a minute. Rescue teams are searching this Thursday (25) for victims buried in buildings that collapsed across the country. The two strong earthquakes that hit Venezuela on Wednesday (24) left 188 dead and 1,520 injured - a number that could increase in the coming hours given the size of the destruction. Entire buildings and houses collapsed in Caracas and other Venezuelan cities. This Thursday morning (25), rescue teams were working to search for survivors. The second tremor, measuring 7.5, is the strongest to hit Venezuela in more than a century. Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez declared a state of emergency in the country. There is no news of Brazilians affected, according to Itamaraty. Brazil, the USA and Europe sent rescue teams to the country. The tremor was also felt in cities in northern Brazil, such as Manaus and Belém.
