"The Account of the Future": CNN debuts series on post-election fiscal challenge
The new CNN Brasil series "A Conta do Futuro" premieres on the Prime Time program next Monday (13). The production will be shown until the 16th and will debate the challenges to be faced after the 2026 elections by the future elected government.
A Conta do Futuro will air from July 13th to 16th, starting at 8pm. However, for those who cannot watch it during the three days, the series will be re-aired in a special documentary format on July 25th, at 9:15 pm.
The series proposes to translate the country's major obstacles through the analysis of economists and experts. The following will be on the agenda:
Fiscal collision course for the country, given that around 93% of public expenditure is restricted by mandatory spending. The topic will feature analysis by Tatiana Pinheiro (FGV) and Felipe Salto;
The new face of the job market and the advance of pejotization will also be addressed, discussing the vacuum in social protection and the repercussions on Social Security, from the perspective of Márcio Holland (FGV) and Laura Muller Machado (Insper).by Márcio Holland (FGV) and Laura Muller Machado (Insper);
The third axis discusses the end of the demographic dividend, revealing the drama of a Brazil that grew old before getting rich and that now depends on technology and productivity to make GDP grow, according to Fernando Fernandes and Thais Zara (CLA Consultores).
Finally, the series unravels over-indebtedness, showing how accelerated digital banking and the lack of financial education have generated records of default, with analyzes by Camila Abdelmalak (Serasa Experian) and Cristina Helena de Mello (PUC-SP).
The project is part of the coverage of the 2026 Elections, under the banner "CNN Informa, Brazil decides", which aims to combine data journalism, scenario analysis and editorial balance. In addition to this production, the CNN Index, the presidential hearings and the "A Hora da Dedições" consortium are also part of the report on the political event.
