The 20 best-selling SUVs so far in Brazil; T-Cross remains in the lead
The SUV segment continues to have high numbers of registrations in the Brazilian market. By May 2026, this type of body has already sold more than 500 thousand units.
In May, the sector represented 57.70% of market share among all vehicles. During the entire year 2026 (January to May), this type of body also remains above 57% share.
Among the "darling" models, the Volkswagen T-Cross is the leader. Over the first five months of this year, the compact SUV has already sold 36,295 units.
Coming next is the Volkswagen Tera. The model is also a compact SUV, but positioned below the T-Cross. It competes with models like Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian and others.

Over the period, the Volkswagen Tera has already totaled 32,131 units. Version 1.0 MPI is the cheapest and starts at R$107,190. On the other hand, the High configuration is the most expensive, priced at R$146,190.
Just below, the Hyundai Creta also continues to compete for leadership and has numbers very close to the aforementioned models.
The Creta totaled 30,392 units sold between January and May 2026. The model, in fact, became the best-selling in retail during the first quarter of 2026.

A surprise is the BYD Song, which appears in fourth place. The Chinese SUV has already sold 24,895 cars during the period and is surprising for being in a high position, even with a short time on the market.
In fifth position, the Chevrolet Tracker remains close to Song. There are 24,733 units registered over the first five months of 2026.
