The 1960s Singer Paul McCartney Stopped Admiring

The 1960s singer for whom Paul McCartney lost some admiration was Bob Dylan. Although Dylan was one of the Beatles' biggest influences during the mid-1960s, McCartney admitted that his relationship with the songwriter's work has changed over the years. According to Paul, there was a period when he considered Dylan practically unbeatable as a lyricist. However, as time passed, some phases of the musician's career no longer aroused the same enthusiasm. This doesn't mean that McCartney stopped respecting Dylan. On the contrary: he continues to recognize its historical importance and its influence on popular music. The point is that the absolute admiration of the 1960s has given way to a more critical and balanced view. Even so, McCartney still considers Dylan to be one of the most important songwriters of all time.
