Teacher suspected of sending sexual photos to student is released in MG

The dance teacher at a municipal school in the Venda Nova neighborhood, in Belo Horizonte (MG), who had been arrested on suspicion of sending sexual photos to a 13-year-old student was granted provisional release by the Minas Gerais Court after a custody hearing, this Monday (25).

According to the decision, the man was released, but must comply with a series of precautionary measures.

Among them are the monthly appearance in court to inform and justify their activities, prohibition of being absent from the District without prior judicial authorization for a period of more than 30 days, keeping the address up to date, removal from duties in a school environment and the exercise of any other similar activity involving minors, in addition to the prohibition of contact and proximity to the victim and family members by any means, as well as the places they are found.

The suspect was arrested last Sunday (24) by the Military Police of Minas Gerais after the teenager's mother realized that her son was being harassed, when she decided to impersonate him.

According to the police, the woman continued the conversation with the teacher, who even asked for secrecy regarding the messages and arranged a meeting with the teenager at home. At that moment, the boy's mother informed the police about the meeting between the two.

Subsequently, the suspect requested an app car to pick up the teenager, however, a police officer boarded in the boy's place. Upon arriving at the address, the police officer arrested the man, who was already waiting for the victim.

In a statement, the Municipal Department of Education reported that the teacher was fired this Monday and stated that it is providing full assistance to the student and their families.

The man, who had been working there for around four months, taught dance classes at the municipal school for different classes and age groups. According to investigations, one of the students was the victim's sister, a 9-year-old girl.
