Teacher reports that student put glass in a glass of water during class at a school in São Paulo
A teacher from the municipal school system in São José dos Campos (SP) reported an episode that generated outrage and concern within a public school. According to the educator's report, a student placed fragments of glass in a glass of water that would be given to her during a Science class.
The case happened on Tuesday (30) and is being investigated by the authorities and the Municipal Department of Education. Despite being scared, the teacher realized that there was something strange before consuming the drink and did not drink the water.
Students' behavior raised suspicions
The teacher said that a student offered to fetch water. When he returned with the glass, she noticed unusual behavior among the other students in the room.
While some laughed and whispered, others showed nervousness. According to the report, some students even discreetly warned her not to drink the water, saying that, if they were in her place, they would not consume the drink. The class's reaction made the teacher suspicious of the situation before any accident occurred.
Educator was shaken and needed assistance
Even without suffering physical injuries, the teacher stated that she was deeply emotionally shaken after discovering the alleged attempt to put glass in the water. She was referred for medical care due to the psychological impact caused by the episode.
School and authorities are monitoring the case
The Municipal Department of Education reported that it is monitoring the incident and providing support to the professional. The case was also reported to the competent authorities to investigate the circumstances and possibly hold those involved accountable.
The investigations should clarify how the glass fragments were placed in the glass, whether other students were involved and what disciplinary and legal measures could be adopted.
Episode reignites debate about safety in schools
The case once again raised discussions about the safety of education professionals and the increase in incidents involving violence and risky behavior in the school environment.
Experts argue that situations like this require joint action between schools, families and public bodies, with psychological support, educational measures and accountability when necessary, to guarantee a safe environment for students and teachers.
