Taylor Swift will not attend the 2026 American Music Awards; understand

Singer Taylor Swift, 36, will not attend the 2026 AMAs (American Music Awards) awards ceremony. She was nominated in eight award categories, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for the album "The Life of a Showgirl", released in 2025.

Swift is the most awarded artist in the history of the AMAs and, if she wins all the categories she was nominated for this year, she will be among the artists with the most wins in a single year, along with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Due to a scheduling conflict with other commitments, the singer will not be able to attend the event, which takes place on May 25th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas. However, on June 11, she will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York, becoming the youngest woman to be inducted into the organization.

In October last year, the 12th album broke records and achieved the best first-week sales for an album in modern music history. Two months later, she released "Taylor Swift: The End of an Era," a six-part Disney+ docu-series that goes behind the scenes of her record-breaking tour, The Eras Tour.
