TAYLOR SWIFT'S LYRICS INSPIRE LITERARY PROJECT WITH MORE THAN 100 POETS

A literary project brought together more than 100 poets to transform Taylor Swift's songs into poetic texts, creating a direct bridge between the universe of pop music and contemporary literature.

Music as a literary starting point The proposal is based on the idea of using the artist's songs as a basis for new literary creations. Each author was invited to choose a specific track and develop a poem based on it, in a free reading that goes beyond the original lyrics.

The interpretations explore themes that run through Taylor Swift's discography, such as romantic relationships, affective memory, maturation and experiences of loss, always from varied perspectives and different writing styles.

Project brings together names from contemporary poetry The initiative is organized by poet and professor Kristie Frederick Daugherty, researcher of the connections between music and literature. The project brings together authors from different generations and backgrounds, including names already established in the academic circuit and in international poetry.

Among the participants are Joy Harjo, Diane Seuss, Yusef Komunyakaa and Gregory Pardlo, as well as authors such as Maggie Smith, Kate Baer and Amanda Lovelace, who have also gained prominence in the digital environment and in contemporary publications.

Critical reading of Taylor Swift's work The initiative reinforces the discussion about the narrative reach of the singer's compositions, often analyzed as texts with a strong poetic construction.
