Switzerland beats Jordan with a rout in the penultimate friendly before the World Cup
In the final stages of preparation for the 2026 World Cup, Switzerland beat Jordan 4-1 at home, in a friendly that took place this Sunday (31) at the AFG Arena, in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
With a penalty goal, center forward Breel Embolo opened the scoring for Switzerland in the 21st minute of the first half. Dan Ndoye doubled the lead by scoring the second goal of the match in the 29th minute.
Jordan saw Odeh Al-Fakhouri reduce the deficit in the 51st minute of the first half, but it was not enough to turn things around. Granit Xhaka and Christian Fassnacht completed Switzerland's rout.
The two teams are preparing for the last friendly matches before the World Cup. Switzerland faces Australia on June 6th, while Jordan has a clash with Colombia on June 7th.
