Suspect of ordering vehicles for Comando Vermelho is arrested in Rio

The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested a fugitive from justice identified as a member of Comendo Vermelho and the recipient of stolen and stolen vehicles in the state of Minas Gerais. The man's arrest took place this Saturday (6), in the Campo Grande neighborhood, in the west zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the police, the man worked in Poços de Caldas and other cities in the southern region of Minas Gerais. He ordered vehicles for criminals specializing in robberies and thefts, paying amounts that varied between R$5,000 and R$10,000 per car. Subsequently, the vehicles were tampered with and resold.

In addition, the suspect is also being investigated for being one of the main responsible for the significant increase in vehicle thefts in the Poços de Caldas (MG) region, especially large pickup trucks.

Due to investigations in the state of Minas Gerais, the suspect moved to São Paulo, where he started using a false identity. Even in the state, the man was arrested for theft, vehicle cloning and drug trafficking, but, in 2022, he managed to escape from the Araraquara Penitentiary (SP).

After escaping, the suspect moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he returned to using a false name and continued committing the crimes, being responsible for ordering stolen vehicles in Minas Gerais, which were then sent to Rio de Janeiro.

According to the police, the suspect led a life of "high financial standard". In addition to having a company formally registered under a false name, the suspect also registered a daughter under the fraudulent identity he used.

The person being investigated is identified by the police as a "very dangerous individual" and has convictions totaling 40 years in prison. He was sent to the prison system and will be available to the courts.
