The ban was announced this Thursday (25) by the chief of police of the French capital, Patrice Faure.
By decree, the consumption of alcohol in public is banned from 12pm on Friday until 7am on Saturday (27th), and from 12pm on Saturday to 7am on Sunday (28th).

The French Ministry of Health says it recorded 25 cardiac arrests in Paris over 24 hours on Wednesday (24), compared to less than 10 normally. On that day, thermometers in the French capital exceeded 41ºC.
