Stolen car with official license plates is seized in Rio de Janeiro

Three armed men were arrested red-handed in an operation by the PCERJ (Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro) and the PRF (Federal Highway Police) in the Irajá neighborhood, in the North Zone of Rio, this Tuesday (7).

During the police approach, three 7.62 caliber rifles, 24 magazines, 430 7.62 caliber ammunition, a signal blocker (jammer), communication radio, holsters, license plates and the vehicle used by the criminals were seized.

According to the agents, the location of the detainees was carried out by the PC's intelligence department and identified the movement of the men from Penha towards Complexo do Chapadão, using a vehicle, a Toyota Corolla car, stolen and with cloned license plates.

After verification, the Civil Police found that the vehicle was stolen on April 7th of this year and was being driven with license plates that actually belonged to an official vehicle.

The corporation also claims that one of the prisoners had an open arrest warrant, issued by the Bangu Criminal Court, for robbery. The court order was complied with during the incident.

The criminals were taken to a police unit, where they were convicted of the crimes of criminal organization, receiving, tampering with a motor vehicle identification sign, illegal possession of a restricted firearm and other crimes found in the investigations.

The defense of those involved was not located. The space remains open.
