Four years since "The Fabelmans", in which he wrote a love letter to cinema, Steven Spielberg, 79, returns as director and releases "D-Day", returning to already familiar territory: that of aliens.
In the plot, a group of former employees steal sensitive and secret materials from American authorities and want to expose secrets related to extraterrestrials on Earth to the whole world. As a result, the messenger becomes the central target of an operation.
The production stars Josh O'Connor ("Rivals"), Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada") and Colin Firth ("Bridget Jones's Diary"). The production hit theaters on June 11th and grossed US$92.8 million (around R$470 million).
This is not the first time that Spielberg has worked with a star-studded cast or talked about life outside of Earth. With a filmography spanning over 60 years, the filmmaker has collaborated with big names in cinema and ventured into different themes.
