Steven Spielberg's return to the big screen with "D-Day" resulted in the filmmaker having the biggest search in history, according to Google Trends.

The filmmaker's name has never been searched so much in the search engine since its creation in 2004. Over these 22 years, the director has had some peaks close to the premiere of his films, such as "War of the Worlds" and, in this decade, "The Fabelmans", but this month of June, with the premiere of "D-Day", the director reached his absolute record.

As shown in the graph below, the name "Steven Spielberg" has the biggest peak in its history this month, with some highs in 2004, 2005 and 2022, coinciding with classics from its history, such as "The Terminal".

The main searches revolve around the artist's name, his biography and his films, such as "Ready Player One", "Schindler's List" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". Quentin Tarantino's film "Pulp Fiction" is also related to his name, which was beaten for the 1995 Oscar for Best Film, going to "Forrest Gump".

Released in the second week of June, "D-Day" has achieved worldwide revenue of US$ 172,717,890 (around R$ 900 million) to date. The film stars Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Josh O'Connor and more.

The plot portrays a unique moment in humanity: when a live broadcast reveals inexplicable phenomena and exposes military secrets about extraterrestrial life.

The production hype is also linked to recent news about supposed alien life, as in the case of influencer Mayk Leão, who lives in the interior of Paraná. He used his social networks to report strange events on his farm, inexplicable behaviors of his animals and light phenomena in the sky. When telling the events, the story was related as advertising for Spielberg's film, which was denied by the influencer himself.
