Special appearances in "Friends": see actors who have been on the series
The series "Friends" collected special appearances from Hollywood artists as famous as its regular cast. The production lasted ten seasons and aired between 1994 and 2004.
Names like Julia Roberts, Winona Ryder and George Clooney appeared in secondary roles. Actor Brad Pitt, who also appeared, was married to star Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green, at the time of his appearance.

Sean Penn
The actor already had an established career in Hollywood when he played Eric, the fiance of Ursula, Phoebe Buffay's twin sister, both played by actress Lisa Kudrow. In two episodes of the eighth season of the series, in 2001, Eric ends up falling in love with Phoebe after a series of lies from his sister, but the confusion is too much for him and the romance does not go ahead.

Winona Ryder
In the series' seventh season, Ryder plays Melissa Warburton, one of Rachel Green's (Jennifer Aniston) old college classmates. In the episode in which she participates, the characters kiss and Melissa reveals that she has had a crush on Rachel since they kissed drunkenly at a university party.

Jennifer Coolidge
The actress from "The White Lotus" plays Amanda Buffamoneezi, the former and annoying roommate of Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). The episode belongs to the tenth season, which aired in 2003. Originally from New York, Amanda had moved to England, and her attempts to speak with a British accent are the subject of jokes among her friends.

Brad Pitt
The actor was still married to protagonist Jennifer Aniston when he made an appearance in the eighth season, in an episode about Thanksgiving dinner. The actor plays Will Colbert, a former classmate who had a feud with Rachel Green in high school that he still hasn't gotten over.

Ben Stiller
Ben Stiller makes a cameo as Rachel's unexpectedly loud and aggressive date in the show's third season. The episode was called "The One with the Screamer" and aired in 1997.

Brooke Shields
In the second season, Brooke Shields plays Erika Ford, an obsessed fan who believes that Joey and her fictional character on "Days of Our Lives", doctor Drake Ramoray, are the same person, generating great confusion.

Julia Roberts
The actress plays the role of Susie "Underpants" Moss, an old classmate of Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), who he teased in elementary school. When she reappears decades later, the two begin dating, until Susie takes revenge and humiliates Chandler.1

Ellen Pompeo
The "Grey's Anatomy" star appears in an episode in the tenth season, as Missy Goldberg, a former college classmate with whom Chandler and Ross (David Schwimmer) were in love. His return causes problems between the two, who still compete for his attention.

George Clooney and Noah Wyle
Alluding to their roles in "ER", George Clooney and Noah Wyle appear as doctors treating Rachel for an injury in the first season. Later, Monica and Rachel take the doctor duo on a double date that goes wrong.
