Luis de la Fuente, coach of Spain, gave a press conference this Wednesday (3) and opened up about the participation of Lamine Yamal, from Barcelona, in Furia's debut game in the World Cup against Cape Verde.

The teams will face each other on Monday (15), at 1 pm (Brasília time), at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, in Atlanta, for the first game of the Group H group stage.

The commander of the Spanish National Team said that the 18-year-old jewel will not play in the friendly against Iraq, this Thursday (4), before leaving for the United States. Nico Williams and Victor Muñoz will also be absent.

Regarding his debut in the World Cup, the coach highlighted his confidence that the star will be available, but stated that this does not guarantee the attacker's participation in the match with the Cape Verdeans.

"Lamine, Nico, nor Victor will not play tomorrow. We are confident that Lamine will be ready by the 15th, but I don't know for sure. If things continue like this, he could be ready by then, but that does not guarantee that he will play. We will evaluate the situation as it unfolds," said de la Fuente.

Recovery from injury
Yamal is recovering from an injury to his left thigh, suffered in April this year. The player was a doubt among Spain's squad, but was listed by Luis de la Fuente for the World Cup.
