SP: Car catches fire after collision in Castello Branco and three die

An accident followed by fire, on Sunday night (5), left three dead and one injured on the Castello Branco highway, in Osasco, Greater São Paulo. The fatal victims included two adults and a child.

The Fire Department was called to the accident between two cars at 11:49 pm, with three vehicles involved in the incident. The accident involved four victims, three of whom were found charred, including two adults and a child.

According to Artesp (Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo), a Honda Civic was traveling along the eastbound side of the road, when it collided with the back of a Renault Kwid, which caught fire.

At around 1 am, the fire was controlled, and the vehicles were removed from the scene at 3 am. The victims were removed by the funeral home around 4am.

In a note, Ecorodovias reported that there was a total blockage of the track, causing 1 km of slowdown. The track was completely reopened at 4am, at the end of the accident response.

In total, teams from the concessionaire, Military Highway Police, Firefighters, Forensics and Civil Police were called in to assist.
