Soy exports total 15.4 million tons in May, says Anec

Soy exports in May totaled 15.4 million tons, an increase of 8.7% compared to the same period in 2025, according to Anec (National Association of Cereal Exporters).

The survey also shows that soybean meal shipments also grew in the fifth month of the year. Compared to May 2025, there was a 23% increase in exports, which totaled 2.6 million tons.

Although soybeans account for the largest volume of exports, the highlight of the interannual comparison was corn, which increased by 411% between May 2025 and May 2026, jumping to 281 thousand tons sent outside the country.

DDGS shipments totaled 65.1 thousand tons, an increase of 343%, according to Anec's monthly mapping.

In total, grain exports in the month totaled 19.3 million tons. The number is equivalent to an increase of 18% compared to the same period in 2025.

Year to date
From January to May, the volume of soybean shipments increased 7.8% compared to the first five months of 2025 and now totals 58.5 million tons.

In the year to date, the volume of exports of soybean meal (10.4 million tons), corn (5.75 million tons), wheat (970 thousand tons), DDGS (503 thousand tons) and sorghum (35 thousand tons) also show good numbers.

Projections for June
The positive numbers so far, however, are not expected to continue. Anec estimates drops in shipments of soybeans (to 12.3 million tons), soybean meal (to 1.65 million tons) and corn (to 485 thousand tons) compared to June 2025.

The association projects only an increase in DDGS exports, which could reach 76.9 thousand tons.
