Southeast and Central-West are expected to have rain during Brazil's debut in the World Cup
The Brazilian team debuts at the 2026 World Cup at 7pm (Brasília time) this Saturday (13). And there is a chance of rain in several of the country's capitals at the time of the match.
The weather forecast for the Southeast and Center-West is intense winds, rain, with the risk of hail.
Brazil's first game is against Morocco at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey, on the East coast of the United States.
According to Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology), the Southeast should be the most affected region and is under a "danger" storm warning.
Several areas of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo are expected to be hit by rain of 30 to 60 mm/h and winds of 60-100 km/h.
In the Central-West, the rain is expected to occur less intensely, but there is still a forecast of windy weather and even a risk of hail.
In regions of Goiânia, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Cuiabá the forecast is for rain between 20 and 30 mm/h with winds of 40 to 60 km/h.

In addition to the rain forecast, a cold front gains strength in the country this Saturday (13).
A mass of polar air advances through the south and southeast, lowering temperatures for the weekend.
According to Nottus, the most affected states should be Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, with a chance of frost in the mountainous regions.
