South American: São Paulo catches Boston River and only depends on itself to advance

São Paulo takes to the field this Tuesday (26), at 7pm (Brasília time), at Morumbis, to face Boston River-URU, in the final round of the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana. Leader of Group C, Tricolor only depends on a victory at home to guarantee a place in the round of 16 of the competition.

The team from São Paulo has nine points, with two wins and three draws. Next come Millonarios, with eight points, and O'Higgins, with seven. Boston River, this round's opponent, is at the bottom of the group with three points and no longer has a mathematical chance of qualifying.

In the previous round, São Paulo drew 1-1 with Millonarios, at Morumbis. Luciano opened the scoring at the beginning of the first half, while Hurtado left everything the same for the Colombians in the final minutes of the match.

Boston River, in turn, beat O'Higgins 3-2 at home in their last match in the South American Championship. Despite the positive result, the Uruguayan team is already eliminated for the decisive clash.

In addition to victory, São Paulo can also advance in other scenarios. In case of a draw, Tricolor will need to hope that Millonarios and O'Higgins also draw or for the Chilean team to win. In case of defeat, only a draw in the other game in the group would guarantee the leadership for São Paulo.

How the teams arrive
Coach Dorival Júnior has important casualties for the duel: defender Sabino and striker Luciano, who left the game against Botafogo with muscle pain, will be absent, as will Bobadilla.

On the other hand, defender Rafael Tolói and midfielder Marcos Antônio, recovered from injury, could be linked again. Finally, striker André Silva and full-back Enzo Díaz, suspended against Botafogo, are also available.

For Boston River, coach Ignacio Ithurralde should keep goalkeeper Antúnez as a starter, as well as the line with three defenders formed by Artín González, Fernández and Rivero. The rest of the team must follow the basis of the last games.
