Son of David and Victoria Beckham releases new song about ups and downs
Cruz Beckham, 21, son of former footballer David Beckham, 51, and fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, 52, released this Friday (26) the song "Wear and Tear", a track that gives the name to his first EP, scheduled to hit platforms on August 21st. In the song, the young artist reflects on the ups and downs of life and the experiences that shape each person.
The song maintains the indie rock sound that Cruz has been developing alongside the band The Breakers, with the use of guitars, psychedelic influences and choruses designed for large live performances. The production is signed by Justin Raisen and Lewis Pesacov, names who have worked with artists such as Kim Gordon, Joji and Charli XCX.
Cruz, who was raised in the spotlight as part of one of the most famous families in entertainment, explained the meaning of the new track.
"'Wear and Tear' is synonymous with a life lived and all the experiences you have accumulated so far, the good and the bad, the learnings and everything in between. No matter how different each person's experiences are, we have all felt at least some emotions in common, which make us human. We have been at the top and bottom, in love and suffering, jealous, hurt... We live and learn. We all carry our scars."
The debut EP follows a series of singles performed by Cruz at shows with The Breakers, including "Yeah Yeah Yeah", "Waste Your Pain", inspired by the film Risky Business (1983), and "For Your Love", a song that, according to the artist himself, helped him find his musical identity.
The young musician also gained prominence on social media this week when he appeared alongside his father and girlfriend, Brazilian singer Jackie Apostel, 30, during the World Cup match between Brazil and Scotland, last Wednesday (24).
Daughter of a Brazilian mother and a German father, Jackie has been in a relationship with Cruz since 2024 and often accompanies her boyfriend to public engagements of the Beckham family.
