Sofía Vergara reveals that the cast of "Modern Family" still exchanges messages
Actress Sofía Vergara, 53, said in an interview with People magazine that she still exchanges messages with the cast of the series "Modern Family", in which she played the character Glória Delgado-Pritchett.
She revealed that the chat group is always full of updates from colleagues, including veteran Ed O'Neill, who brought Jay Pritchett to life.
"We use it a lot. It's very confusing. Ed answers a question about five days later, and then we have no idea what he's talking about. So it's really cool", explained the actress.
She spoke about the special relationship she established with O'Neil during filming and that he was like a mentor for her acting career. "I spent most of the 11 years with him (...) He was a great friend, a great pillar for me, because that was like my first real acting job," she recalled.
Vergara had already reunited with the cast in 2023, including O'Neill, Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, as well as executive producers Chris Lloyd and Steve Levitan. At the time, she told People that the meeting was special and that it had been her first meeting with everyone in four years.
"Modern Family" is an eleven-season sitcom that follows the events of the Pritchett family made up of Claire, a housewife, mother of three, married to Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell); Mitchell, his younger brother, is married to Cam and parents of an adopted baby named Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons). Jay is the father of Claire and Mitchell, married to a much younger woman, Gloria (Sofia Vergara), and helping her raise her teenage son, Manny (Rico Rodriguez).
All seasons of the series are available on Disney+.
