Singer and violinist Ster expands 'erudite funk' with the EP 'Prelúdio' while scheduling her first album for 2027

Ster launches the EP 'Prelúdio' with five original songs, three of which are new and two have already been released as singles

♬ Singer, composer and violinist from Rio de Janeiro, daughter of a Chilean father and Brazilian mother, Ster develops the sound she calls erudite funk, a style that promotes the union of Rio's beat with classical music through harmonies, techniques and arrangements designed to reinforce this connection.
One year after releasing the EP entitled "Funk erudito" (2005), Ster - born Esther Cândida Alves Campos 25 years ago and raised in Penha, a suburban neighborhood in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - presents another EP, "Prelúdio", while scheduling the release of the first album for 2027.
In rotation since the night of Thursday, June 25th, the EP "Prelúdio" brings together five songs written by Ster, all recorded with musical production by DJ TH4I.
Two tracks, "Dança de baile" (2025) and "Muleke" (2026), had already been previously presented in singles released in December and May, respectively, with "Muleke" featuring Ster with the Rio de Janeiro singer King Saints. The trio of new features on the EP "Prelúdio" is made up of the songs "Espelho", " Isso aqui é BR" and "I can even play a violin".
The release of the EP "Prelúdio" is another step in the musical journey started by the artist when she was still a child. At the age of eight, Ster learned to play the violin through private lessons at church. Graduated from the Villa-Lobos Music School, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ)< the artist gained visibility in the current 2020s through videos in which she propagated such erudite funk with the touch of the violin.
