Simone Mendes explains 'defense of women' on stage and distance from social media

One of her biggest goals is to inspire women. The singer's most listened to song is currently called "Direitos Iguais". She addresses a relationship that is close to ending, but the man is afraid to see the woman move on. The song occupies the 22nd position in the Top 50 on Spotify Brazil.
With the boom of feminejo in the 2010s, lyrics that address gender equality grew exponentially and one of the biggest stars in the segment is Simone.
In an interview with g1 before the recording of her newest DVD, "Minhas Memórias", she explained how she sees the role in the discourse of female empowerment and in the discussion about the role of women in society.

"I want to try to be better every day for women. I recorded a song called 'Mulher Foda', which when I sing on my show women go crazy. And now I've recorded this new song, 'Direitos Iguais', and it is equal rights", says the artist.
The song mentioned by her, "Mulher Foda", addresses the aggressiveness of a man who raises his voice towards a woman who does not submit to any type of violence.
"I want to make it clear in my work that we [women] are independent of everything, strong, warriors, fighters, feisty and admirable."
Simone's new work will be a tribute to the country singer of the 1990s and to the singer's idols. The following were invited: Luciano, Daniel, Bruno & Marrone and Chitãozinho & Xororó.
The list only has men. Even before the reporter concludes what it means for this project to pay homage to country people from that time to have only men as guests, Simone asks "calm down" and suggests that there will be a continuation, without confirming or detailing what it would be.
"Yes, in this project [there are only men]. But we are thinking about doing something later. Calm down, it's one little thing at a time. Now, I want to pay homage to a beautiful era of country music."

"Minhas Memórias" has no confirmed release date. The singer wants to launch the project at the end of the year. In addition to re-recordings of the guests' hits, Simone will also present new songs.
"There are, I think, about 12 or 13 re-recordings and then about five or six new ones. And they also sing new things", explains Simone.
The musical production of the DVD is by Eduardo Pepato, who has worked with the main artists of the genre, from Maiara and Maraisa to Gusttavo Lima, including Chitãozinho and Xororó and Luan Santana. In 2019, he won the Latin Grammy for producing the album "Todos os Cantos - Vol 1", by Marília Mendonça, which won the category of best country music album.

One of the greatest Brazilian artists of her generation, Simone was experiencing overexposure on social media. She shared every moment with her husband, Kaká Diniz, and her children, Henry, aged 11, and Zaya, aged 5.
During the pandemic, she recorded a series of videos telling the behind-the-scenes of her personal life. The series "Vale A Pena Ver Simone" showed the singer's house, her relationship with her son Henri, Zaya's pregnancy, as well as her intimacy with Kaká.
The life of Simone Mendes was an open book and exposed on the internet (minus the behind-the-scenes of the duo's breakup with her sister, Simaria).
The series was published in full on YouTube only last year. But in 2025, Simone's relationship with the networks was already different.
"I think it was a question of having more time too. During the pandemic, everyone was at a standstill and I decided to do something on social media. I created a YouTube channel, recorded stories, showed my life a lot. Today I have other priorities."
