The signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran is expected to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, according to three sources, who told CNN this Friday (12).

This comes after US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday (11) a "grand agreement" that could resolve the war with Iran, suggesting it would be finalized in the coming days.

Trump said he anticipated a signing ceremony for the document soon, possibly in Europe, with Vice President JD Vance in attendance. No entanto, autoridades iranianas ainda não confirmaram se um acordo foi alcançado.

Two sources with knowledge of the diplomatic negotiations said the signing ceremony will be held in Geneva - not far from where Trump and an American delegation will attend next week's G7 summit in France.

One of these sources said the signing ceremony will mark the beginning of the "second phase" of diplomatic negotiations as officials work on implementing the memorandum of understanding.

Several sources said the memorandum is being called the "Islamabad Declaration" in recognition of the key mediation role played by Pakistan.

No entanto, nada foi confirmado, e uma fonte iraniana sugeriu que Viena, capital da Áustria, também estava sendo considerada.
