Shooting attack leaves 12 dead in Johannesburg, South Africa

At least 12 people were killed and nine were injured on Tuesday night (9) when gunmen carried out a shooting attack in an informal settlement in Cleveland, east of Johannesburg, police said on Wednesday (10).
According to city police, more than 10 suspects are wanted. The suspects arrived at the scene of the crime in a white Toyota Quantum, a van model. After entering the settlement via two access roads, the suspects shot in several locations before fleeing in the same vehicle.
The cause of the attack has not yet been identified.
The informal settlement in Cleveland is a residential area on the outskirts of the South African city. The country has one of the highest homicide rates in the world, with an average of 60 murders per day.
