Twelve people were injured after a shooting near a community festival in Toledo, Ohio, this Saturday. Police said the search for the suspects continues.
The Toledo Police Department said the shooting occurred near the Old West End Festival, an annual event featuring live music and tours of historic homes in the city's historic neighborhood. Officers at the scene found several people shot and "many victims" were taken to hospitals, the department said in a statement.
Authorities did not immediately detail the severity of the injuries. The department said an active search is underway to find those responsible.
According to news agency Associated Press (AP), among the 12 injured, two are in serious condition.

"This tragedy is truly taking a heavy toll on residents and those who visit and enjoy this festival year after year," she said.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said in a statement: "I am deeply concerned about the situation in Toledo tonight. Summer should be safe spaces for families to spend time together without fear of violence."
Several videos posted on social media showed people running to the sound of gunshots and emergency workers providing aid to others who appeared to be injured.
Kevin Berry said he was sitting in the neighborhood's community garden, listening to live music with friends, when he heard several gunshots.
"Everyone threw themselves on the ground," he said.
When he looked up, he saw a gun being thrown to the ground less than 50 feet away. Police officers who were already on site for the festival responded immediately to the incident.
Berry, who has medical training and served in the U.S. Navy, said he walked through the area looking for possible victims who might need help.
He said he saw at least five people with gunshot wounds.
"The people who were hit were scattered throughout the community garden area," he said.
The Old West End Festival is a two-day celebration in Toledo's historic district that includes live music, food booths, tours to historic homes and shopping.
Berry described the event as "the kickoff to Toledo's summer festival season."
