Sepultura releases final EP "The Cloud of Unknowing" on farewell stretch

Sepultura released "The Cloud of Unknowing", an EP with four tracks that arrives during the farewell tour "Celebrating Life Through Death". The work marks the final phase of the Brazilian band after more than four decades of activity.

The album features the songs "All Souls Rising", "Beyond the Dream", "Sacred Books" and "The Place". Two of them had already been presented to the public before release.

Despite arriving in the middle of the final tour, the EP does not change the plans for ending their career. Andreas Kisser stated that the work is not an artifice to extend the farewell, and highlighted that some tracks are already part of the shows.

The guitarist explained that the band entered the studio without an album name, without a song name, without a cover, without a release date and without pressure for a closed project. According to him, "Sacred Books" was created entirely within the studio, almost like a jam.

The EP also marks Sepultura's first record with drummer Greyson Nekrutman. Paulo Jr. stated that there is a lot of jazz influence brought by Greyson, as well as elements of King Crimson, prog and references from the 1970s.

Andreas Kisser also celebrated the opportunity to record material with Greyson, whom he called a phenomenal drummer and responsible for bringing a new ingredient to Sepultura's music.
