Senator Carlos Viana (PSD-MG) said this Monday (8), to CNN Brasil, that he will propose in the Senate a 4×3 work schedule - four days of work and three days of rest - for public security and health sector employees.

He stated that the intention is to make the suggestion amidst the analysis of the proposal on the end of the 6×1 scale, which was approved by the Chamber of Deputies at the end of May. The agenda should begin to be discussed by senators this week.

"[The idea is] to bring a proportional scale to safety and health so that in the future these categories will be able to continue working in a less stressful way", he said.

The senator also defended the alternative proposal prepared by the opposition that creates a differentiated work regime based on hours worked.

"The PEC of working hours per hour does not make 5×2 unfeasible. It creates a new form of contract for those who have, for example, two or three jobs. It is very common in the United States, the person has a 'part time' and another fixed job", he stated.
