See which are the best beaches in the world in 2026, according to travelers
Isla Pasión beach, in Mexico, was voted the best in the world in 2026 by the annual ranking of Tripadvisor, a tourist destination evaluation platform. The list was released this Tuesday (17).
The survey brings together 24 beaches based on evaluations and comments left by users over the last year. Brazil appears with Ipanema Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, which occupies the 23rd position (see the complete ranking at the end of the report).
In the top 5, Greece stood out, with two beaches among the top three.

See the five best beaches in the world in 2026
1st. Isla Pasion (Cozumel, Mexico)

Located on an isolated island in the Mexican Caribbean, the beach can be visited on boat trips that generally depart from Cozumel. The destination brings together protected coral reefs, crystal clear waters and a strip of white sand - a combination that attracts tourists looking for calm seas and contact with nature.
2nd. Elafonissi Beach (Crete, Greece)

One of the postcards of the island of Crete, Elafonissi is known for its pinkish sand, a natural phenomenon that depends on weather conditions and the time of year. Even when the coloring does not appear intensely, the scenery draws attention due to the transparent waters.
3rd. Balos Lagoon (Crete, Greece)

Also in Crete, Balos Lagoon combines turquoise sea and natural pools formed between sandbanks. According to Tripadvisor, the region has served as a hiding place for pirates in the past.
4th. Eagle Beach (Palm Tree, Aruba)

On the Caribbean island of Aruba, Eagle Beach is known for its calm waters and extensive strip of white sand. The place is popular for water sports, such as swimming, snorkeling and jet skiing.
The beach is also home to sea turtle nesting areas and is the setting for the iconic Foti trees, with trunks twisted by the wind, considered one of the symbols of Aruba (see the image above).
5th. Praia da Falésia (Olhos de Água, Portugal)

In the Algarve, southern Portugal, Praia da Falésia is marked by extensive reddish cliffs that contrast with the clear sand and blue sea.
In 2024, the same Tripadvisor ranking pointed out the destination as the best beach in the world to visit.

Praia de Ipanema appears in 23rd place and is the only representative of Brazil in the 2026 ranking.
One of the country's best-known postcards, the stretch of sand in the South Zone of Rio is famous for the sunset seen from Arpoador, which is usually applauded by residents and tourists.
