Sebastian Stan says he will play "diverse characters" in The Batman 2

Known in the comic book universe for his striking duality and multiple personality disorder, the villain Two-Face will come to life on screen in the hands of Sebastian Stan in The Batman: Part 2.

The confirmation came from the actor himself in an interview with Deadline, in which he previewed details of his preparation for the role of Harvey Dent, the public prosecutor who becomes the Dark Knight's iconic adversary.

Different characters in one role
When commenting on the challenge of living the divided mind of the role in the saga, Stan revealed that he will soon travel to London to start recording the feature film, where he will play "diverse characters" - a direct reference to the psychological transition and multifaceted personality that define the villain.

The visual transformation process for the role is also already underway behind the scenes. According to the actor, the film's hair and makeup team has already defined how the classic physical disfigurement that accompanies Harvey Dent's dark turn in the plot will be addressed. "I'm excited, I'm nervous, and I'm trying to continue to surprise myself," Stan said about preparing for the project.

Production and schedule
After facing delays due to the delay in finalizing the script - written by director Matt Reeves in partnership with Mattson Tomlin -, production finally moved forward.

With the text completed, the film is currently in the pre-production phase, with principal photography scheduled to begin in April next year.

The film's theatrical release is scheduled for October 2027. Although the central plot and main antagonist are still kept secret, the return of Robert Pattinson in the lead role is confirmed, as are the returns of Colin Farrell (The Penguin), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon) Andy Serkis (Alfred)

Matt Reeves' "Elseworlds" universe
Officially named "Batman Crime Saga", the franchise led by Reeves focuses on Bruce Wayne's early years as the Dark Knight. The first film, released in 2022, achieved great commercial success, grossing around US$772 million worldwide.

This narrative runs parallel and isolated to DC Studios' main plans. While James Gunn's main cinematic universe (DCU) will present its own version of the hero in the film The Brave and the Bold - focused on the dynamics between Bruce and his son Damian Wayne (Robin) -, Pattinson's saga is under the Elseworlds label, a label used for productions that are not connected to the chronology started by the new Superman film.
