Scorer of the Netherlands' second goal in the draw with Japan this Sunday (14), in the debut of the World Cup, striker Crysencio Summerville revealed that he has Neymar as a great idol, seeking inspiration to play like the Brazilian.

In an interview with CazéTV, Summerville was asked about his game being similar to that of Brazilians, with a lot of dribbling. The inspiration for this is Neymar.

"There's a similarity between us (me and the Brazilians). I watch Neymar, he's my idol. When I was younger, I watched a lot of his clips and I really wanted to be like him. I like to dribble and I have a lot of confidence to do it and try to help the team", he declared.

Starting for the Netherlands, the striker scored the 2-1 goal against Japan with a beautiful left shot, but saw his opponents get a draw at the end.

"I'm very proud of myself for being at a World Cup and scoring a goal. I haven't assimilated that yet, but I'm happy with my performance and I think we could have achieved a victory," he said.

The Netherlands returns to the field next Saturday (20), when they will play a European duel against Sweden, in Houston. In the final round, they will face Tunisia on the 25th, in Kansas City.

Depending on the combination of results, if one team comes first in one group and the other comes second in the other, Brazil and the Netherlands could find themselves in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, which would provide a meeting between Neymar and Summerville.
