São Paulo is elected 7th most cultural city in the world

São Paulo was elected the seventh best city in the world for art and culture by Time Out magazine, which specializes in tourism. London takes first place, followed by Paris and New York.

The publication consulted more than 20 thousand people around the world. Respondents responded about the cultural offerings of the places they live in, as well as the quality and accessibility of the spaces.

In addition to reviews from residents, the selection was curated by the editors to restrict the list to 20 destinations.

The capital of São Paulo, the only Brazilian representative in the ranking, was the fourth favorite city for culture among Time Out's panel of experts. Although the city is known for its visual arts, for 58% of residents, the highlight of culture in São Paulo is live music.

69% of locals said the arts and culture scene was "good" or "great", while 66% considered it financially accessible.
