São Paulo dawns under heavy fog this Friday (26); see forecast
The city of São Paulo dawned, this Friday (26), with the sky covered by fog, drizzle and with thermometers reading 12ºC. According to the weather forecast, the day should continue to be cloudy and with light rain.
According to the state's Civil Defense, the combination of high relative humidity and low temperatures recorded in the capital favored the formation and persistence of fog, especially in higher elevations.
The fog that extends in the early hours of the morning compromises the visibility of the landscape, which can be below 1 km at times, and São Paulo residents must be careful in traffic when traveling through the city streets.
With the gradual warming throughout the morning, the tendency is for the fog to dissipate in the next few hours. From 10am onwards, the thermometer should register an increase in temperature, with the maximum reaching 19ºC.
According to Climatempo, air quality should remain good, with relative humidity reaching 99%. For this Friday, 5.6 mm of rain is expected throughout the day and winds should not exceed 5 km/h.
CNN Brasil contacted Congonhas and Guarulhos airports, which reported that there was no impact on operations due to the fog.

The data released was recorded at the Mirante de Santana station, in the North Zone of the Capital (INMET). The record comes amid the first cold wave of the winter of 2026 in Brazil.
