Corinthians returns to the field this Sunday afternoon for another commitment in the Campeonato Paulista U20. At 3pm, Timãozinho faces Santos, in Vila Belmiro, in a duel valid for the fourth round of the state competition.

The team led by William Batista is trying to preserve its perfect record in the tournament and remain among the top placed in Group 1. Furthermore, the black and white team arrives at the classic in a moment of confidence, accumulating seven consecutive matches without defeat.

In the campaign for the State Championship, Corinthians debuted with a 1-0 victory over Mirassol, in a match played at the Manoel Ferreira Stadium. In the following round, they won again by beating Portuguesa Santista 2-0, at Fazendinha.

Timão, however, has one less game compared to the other competitors. Due to having a break in the opening round of the championship, the team has only played two matches so far.

Even with the six points gained, the Parque São Jorge club appears in fifth place in its group. Santos, Portuguesa, Ferroviária and Juventus also have the same score, but have an advantage in the tiebreaker criteria, mainly in goal difference.

The first phase of the Paulista U20 features the participation of 44 teams, divided into three groups. Two keys have 15 clubs, while the third has 14 participants. The teams face each other in a single round within their respective groups.

At the end of this stage, the top ten placed in each group, in addition to the two best teams that finish in 11th position, guarantee a place in the round of 16 stage. On the other hand, the two clubs with the worst campaign in each group will be relegated.

Probable lineup

For this Sunday's classic, the tendency is for William Batista to use his main players, seeking to maintain his unbeaten record and remain at the top of the table.

Thus, a likely formation for Corinthians is: Matheus Corrêa; Pellegrin, Iago Machado, Yago Melo and Joãozinho; Caraguá, Pedro Thomas, Bahia and Gui Amorim; Luiz Fernando and Luiz Fábio.

Arbitration

The São Paulo Football Federation chose Vinicius Diniz de Camargo, aged 23, to take charge of the match. The assistants will be Risser Jarussi Corrêa and Alexandre Nascimento da Silva, while Ronald Horns Araújo will act as fourth referee. At this stage of the Paulista Under-20 Championship there is no use of the video referee (VAR).

Transmission

Fans will have two alternatives to follow the Alvinegro Classic on the internet. The confrontation will be shown free of charge, with images, on the Ulisses TV and Energia 97 FM channels on YouTube.
