Santos wants to expand services in Vila Belmiro before reconstruction

Santos will have a new Vila Belmiro, as announced by the club itself, but while that doesn't happen, president Marcelo Teixeira wants to expand the services offered at the stadium before reconstruction.

To CNN Esportes S/A this Sunday (7), the president told about the new projects, which range from a themed bar to better security.

Even though we have a demolition project and a new arena, we are improving conditions for safety, comfort and even new revenue. We intend to expand here through a restaurant, a themed bar, we intend to offer something different to those who visit and frequent Vila Belmiro in the second half of the year. We intend to install stores and other commercial establishments here to attract people, not just on game days.

Marcelo Teixeira also commented on the acceptance of Santos fans for the redesign of Vila Belmiro. The president stated that there was resistance from fans against the project, but that it improved with the dissemination of ideas.

In the beginning, yes, there was greater resistance, which we gradually spread and informed about what the new Village would be like. The board's intention is to remain in this noble space, it is a space where we conquered and had the biggest stars in world football.
