Santos details Neymar's exams sent to the CBF and shows confidence for the World Cup

Hours after the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that Neymar has a grade 2 injury in his right calf, Santos released a statement to clarify the situation of the number 10.

In an official note from the club, Peixe revealed that the tests carried out by the club were shared with the CBF until the 18th, and that the deadline published by Rodrigo Lasmar runs from the 17th of May, when Neymar felt the injury against Coritiba.

The club still shows confidence in Neymar's recovery and that the player "will be ready to compete in the World Cup".

"He presented himself yesterday at Granja Comary, underwent all complementary medical examinations and ended with an MRI that identified a grade two muscle injury in the calf, not just an edema", stated Rodrigo Lasmar, CBF doctor, in a press conference held this Thursday (28).

"The athlete is still undergoing treatment, our expectation is that he will be released within two to three weeks. With us he is in intensive treatment so that we can evaluate his evolution daily, but that is the expectation", explained Lasmar.

- Absolutely all exams carried out by Neymar Jr. were shared with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) until the 18th, the date of the call-up.
- The two-week period starts from the 17th and ends this Sunday (31st) so that the player is ready to return to activities. Always remember that these estimates vary from person to person and according to the team's needs and the importance of the games.
- The Brazilian team's physiotherapy team is also made up of Santos FC professionals who have been following Neymar Jr. for over 10 years throughout this recovery process.
- The club's medical department is aligned and in agreement with the treatment schedule defined by the CBF medical team.
- Santos FC professionals know the athlete's recovery capacity and are confident that Neymar will be ready to compete in the World Cup."
