Sales of electric cars in Brazil will be three times higher in 2026 compared to 2025

Between January and June 2026, according to data from the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), 90,470 electric cars were registered in Brazil. An increase of 196% compared to the same period in 2025, when 30,534 electric vehicles were sold in the country.
Compared to the previous month, June 2026 showed an increase of 0.84% in registrations of 100% electric vehicles. Compared to the same month in 2025, the increase this year was 258%.

Although volumes are still not as large as others, electric vehicles have been consistently expanding their share of the domestic market", analyzes Arcelio Junior, president of Fenabrave.

Hybrid vehicles are also showing growth. In the first six months of 2026 they were sold in Brazil 154,472 hybrid vehicles, an increase of 85% compared to the 83,468 hybrids sold in the first half of 2025.
In relation to May, the month of June this year showed an increase of 8.9% in hybrid sales. In relation to June 2025, registrations increased by 116%.
"Hybrid cars have had a significant acceptance in the national market and represent the largest volume among them. electrified ones", said Arcelio Junior.
