The statement came almost a week after Romania accused Moscow of a drone attack on the country and NATO (Organization of North Atlantic Treaty) talk about new sanctions against the country, on May 29th.
Hours after the bombing, when asked about the incident during a press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin denied the accusations. He said he knew nothing and challenged the neighboring country to hand over the wreckage of the drone to prove that it was launched from Russia.
"Nobody knows the origin of a drone. Ukrainian drones have flown to Poland and the Baltic countries before... I think this has happened again. Let them then hand over the wreckage to Russia and then we will carry out an investigation," he provoked.

Putin also stated that the accusations that "Russia is preparing for a war with Europe are a lie" and that he cannot give a prediction for the end of the conflict with Ukraine, but that Russian troops are "advancing every day", which could indicate that it is close to the end.
"Russia does not threaten Europe", he stated.
Despite the denial Putin's incisive statement, the spokesman for NATO's military headquarters once again assured that the drone that crashed in Romania was of Russian origin and said:
"NATO is evaluating how to improve Romania's and NATO's defenses against drone threats."
In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and pressure from United States President Donald Trump, European governments increased their military spending.
After the drone attack in Romania, the organization stated that it will further reinforce its defenses.
