Roberto Firmino has once again resonated with Corinthians fans in recent days. Currently playing for Al-Sadd, from Qatar, the 34-year-old striker appeared in a video posted on social media performing physical activities wearing the current season's Timão shirt.

The player's connection with the black and white club, however, is far from being new. On different occasions, Firmino has publicly declared his support for Corinthians. In an interview with ge.globo, in 2018, the striker revealed that he usually follows the team's matches and pays attention to the club's day-to-day activities.

Over the last few years, the athlete's name has also become associated with Corinthians in several transfer windows. In 2024, for example, Firmino once again mobilized Fiel by interacting in a post by the then Timão midfielder, Igor Coronado, leaving three fire emojis in the comments.

In the same year, in an interview with UOL Esporte, the striker admitted that playing for Corinthians is a possibility that pleases him if he returns to Brazilian football.

"I put it in prayer and, when the Lord wants to do it, confirm it in my heart, it will happen. The desire to return to Brazil has increased in my heart", he stated.

Despite the affection declared by the Parque São Jorge club, a negotiation at this time is considered unlikely. Firmino has a contract in force with Al-Sadd until June 2027 and remains linked to the Qatari team.

In the 2025/26 season, the Brazilian has impressive numbers. So far, he has participated in 33 matches, scored 19 goals and contributed seven assists.

Graduated in the CRB's youth categories, Firmino began his professional career at Figueirense before building a career abroad. The first destination outside the country was TSG Hoffenheim, from Germany, where it attracted attention due to its performance and aroused the interest of more important clubs on the European scene.

The big turning point in his career came in 2015, when he arranged his transfer to Liverpool. At the English club, he became one of the team's main names, winning important titles, including the Champions League and the Premier League.

After leaving England, in 2023, the striker went to Al-Ahli, in Saudi Arabia. Two years later, he transferred to Al-Sadd, where he currently remains while continuing to nurture the identification already known with Corinthians.
